Friday Night Lights, Drum Circles & Dancing

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Pearl Street in Boulder? Have I ever mentioned how much I love summer nights on Pearl Street? After dinner with friends this is what we came upon...

cue music

as a child when i was stressed* or worried i used to climb to the top of my grandmother's roof and sing songs as loud as i could. my speciality was broadway musicals. somehow it always made me feel better and free. i may, or may not, have that familiar urge right at this very moment.

*okay, okay. i didn't just have to be worried or stressed. the world was my stage at all times; and heck, the neighbors loved it. i was quite the diva!!

i have such a headache tonight. i can't sleep because of it. boo!!

i have no words for this....

Picture it, Sicily 1912. Ha ha..just kidding. Okay, for reals, Picture this, Lafayette, CO 2009....sitting at SmashBurger having a nice and cheap lunch with Shauna as we partook of the Kids Meal. Always a cheaper deal and better portions. Shauna's goes inside to get a refill of her drink and next to me there were 2 men who were leaving and this is the conversation I overheard....

Guy 1: So do you know that song "I like big butts..."? 

Guy 2: Yeah. Why? (he looks perplexed at this point)

Guy 1: You so need to YouTube "Baby Got Book". It's so funny. If you can't find it that way look up "I like big bibles". Really it's so funny. 

Guy 2: Really?

Guy 1: Really. It's funny.

So of course, I had to look it up. I like funny things too. And this, friends, is what I found.....



I don't know whether to laugh, cry or maybe even throw up. I just don't know.

TOMS & Alpha Care: Get on board folks!

i've ordered my first pair of TOMS today !! i'm super duper excited. 

oh, and I love donating to the Alpha Care program with Crossroads International. i'm hoping to go to Durban, South Africa with them in the very near future. Especially since Corky upgraded a dream of mine to see kids of all nations to a vision. Yep, apparently he has those powers--of persuasion :) 

i love, love, love these organizations.

glee

i've been silent for awhile. i know, i know: miracle of miracles. but, i've needed time to process, mourn, ruminate over a few things and honestly, time to catch up and just breathe. i'm working through some grief, sorrow and even some regrets over the loss of my grandma. it's amazing how one situation can illuminate a thousand more in your life. maybe it's because you finally stop and have to face what's right in front of you. so, yeah. i have a lot on my mind these days. 

but i digress...

until i have my witty ways back again, i will leave you with the following clip from Glee. I watched the pilot online on Hulu a couple of days ago when I was avoiding doing what I should have been doing. And I loved it of course. Random singing & dancing with the Glee club in high school. What could be better?
