Snow Day: Update 4
Okay, seriously. I've never blogged this much in one day. But, oh well. It's my blog, I'll do what I want. I just thought I would leave one last blog for the day that says....
I just found out I have SNOW DAY pt. 2 tomorrow.

Snow Day: Update 3
Lots more Shoveling....
Kate and I thought we would get out and try to shovel that sidewalk again. She was stir crazy and after about 10 minutes she was exhausted. Ha!
Kate Tries to burn down our apartment...
Picture this: i'm sitting in my room and all of a sudden I smell something like a burning chemical. I run into the living room and see smoke. All the while, Kate is sitting in the living room working on her computer, oblivious to the smoke. Ha!! I look over into our kitchen and I see smoke everywhere. I run over to the stove, where Kate thought she had turned on the back burner to make tea. But instead she turned on the front burner which had a skillet and plastic spoon utensil, from her lunch, melting to my indestructible skillet. You know, the skillet from many blog moons ago that she had already somewhat destroyed the lid. Yeah, that one. For your Snow Day viewing pleasure....Here's a little video I took of Kate and the skillet incident...

Snow Day: Update
So, I just tried to shovel my sidewalks before the predicted heavy stuff reaches here in a few hours. And I made a good dent in the snow and then all of a sudden...freakin' heavy wind come blowing through and about knocked me over. But more importantly, it blew all of the snow I shoveled back onto the sidewalk in about 7.2 seconds. Pbllhh!
They weren't kidding when they said the wind would cause blizzard like conditions with no visibility.
Sheesh!!

tee he he...
the other night after the Origins Women's Chick Flick night, my lovely friend Jill was kind enough to take Keely and I home after the evening-o-love. Now Jill always has 2 car seats in the back of her car and she's not sure how to take them out.
So...Carol--who came with her--and Keely had to sit in the back seat IN the car seats while she drove us all home.

Books!!
These days I have been a reading machine. I love love love to read. And I love perusing the library and checking out all sorts of books. Recently, I read through the "Twilight" Series. Shhhhh, quit judging me.
After that, I felt I needed to read something with substance and decided on "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini. Let me just say, that book broke me and ravaged my heart at the abuses, loss and brokenness the Afghan women have to endure. I literally wept last night over this book and the issues it awoke in my heart about this particular people group.
This morning, I moved onto the next book on my reading list. Already I can barely handle it, but I know it's going to be worth the read. It's called, "Push," and is written by Sapphire. It's about an illiterate 16 year old trying to survive in modern day Harlem with a multitude of odds against her. It's been made into a movie already that has won multiple awards at this years Sundance Film Festival. Literally, up to this point, I can only read a few pages at a time. I'm not sure if my heart is not ready for another intense book or if it's just hard to read. This book is to the point, hard core, merciless, no glossing things over or making issues "pretty". If the movie is anything like the book, it's going to be heartbreaking to watch.
Maybe my next book should be more light hearted!!

must sleep soon....
have i ever mentioned that my roommate has bouts of insomnia with her lyme's disease? yep, it's true. let's just say, that she is in one of those "bouts" again. what does that mean for me? if you think it means i'm not sleeping either, than you are correct my friend. i'm irritable, emotional and i can't think straight for the life of me. plus, i just caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. not good, not good at all. i'm a disheveled mess with black circles under the eyes. it LOOKS like i haven't slept in days. oh wait, i haven't. i think last night i slept maybe 15 minutes each hour.
i am incredibly tired!

Crossroads International
This is my friend Jacki's dad. He's an AMAZING man. Most people know him as Kent, but I know him as Poppi. He said I could go with him to India or South Africa. I was thinking, maybe both.
